The Inter-Krewe Council

The Inter-Krewe Council's (IKC for short) main purpose is to foster a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie among the member krewes and to provide a forum for information about area parades and other krewe-related activities.

Saturday, Aug 1st
The IKC Carnivale' Saturday Night Fantasy Island party is a MUST DO event! Get into the spirit and dress with the theme! The night of fun includes a Luau inspired buffet, open bar, entertainment and dancing! Dine to the tunes of a steel-drum band then dance the night away with DJ FLASH MORGAN!

Friday, July 31st - Saturday, Aug 1st
Buy the weekend ticket and have access to ALL of the fun events at the Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel as well as the Saturday night party! Your weekend pass includes the following:
*Friday night reception at the hotel with Heavy Hors D'oevres and a 2 hour open bar!
*Saturday Pool Party, including lunch and access to the hospitality suite which will include beer, wine, water and mixed libations.
*Continuous bus transportation to/from the Scottish Rites Center and the Hotel for the Big Party!
*The Saturday night IKC Carnival Night at Fantasy Island party including the Luau inspired buffet, open bar, entertainment and dancing! Dine to the tunes of a steel-drum band then dance the night away with DJ FLASH MORGAN!

Krewe members who hold a Carnivale’ weekend pass are welcome to enter their krewe’s favorite drink in our Cocktail Contest, to be held at 1PM at the Saturday pool party time at the Best Western site for 2015 Carnivale.

Rules and Judging

The contest will be a blind taste test, judged by the seven IKC board/committee members. One winner gets bragging rights and their very own trophy cup. In addition, the winning Krewe gets a waiver of their 2016 IKC dues.

1. Each Krewe who participates in the drinking contest will have ONE entry.
2. Krewes entering the contest will notify Jen Scanlon by email at no later than the DEADLINE of July 25, 2015.
3. Jen Scanlon will send the names of the entering krewes to Susan Jackson and Susan Moyers on July 28.
4. All Krewes will bring 2 gallons of their drink in a container, (please put in a disposable container) to the hospitality room no later than 12 noon on Saturday.
5. At that time a representative from the Contest Planning committee (Susan Moyers or Susan Jackson) will give a number to the Krewe representative that will be written on their containers for identification.
6. At 1PM, there will be 7 trays (1 for each judge) with numbered disposable shot glasses/cups representing each entry. Once all the shots have been poured the Contest Committee will bring the trays out all at one time to pool side table and put in front of the judges.
7. The Judges will all drink each entry at the same time and judge them. Starting with 1 and going in numerical order.
8. Upon the judges finishing all entries, the Judges will give their judging sheets to the Contest Committee for final count.
9. Once the final count is completed they will deliver the results to Jen for the announcement of the winner. Announcement of the winner and presentation of the trophy will be at the Saturday night Fantasy Island Party.
10. Upon completion of the contest, the remaining beverages will be available for the crowd to try.

*Due to the nature of the contest, entry drinks must be premixed. The Hospitality Suite can’t accommodate on-site slushy machines, blenders, etc
